In a hard-hitting and physical bout, the DC All-Stars took down Suburbia's Urban Brawl on April 28 at the Dulles SportsPlex. Coming in with a three-game winning streak, the DC All-Stars were nonetheless cautious, with 2011’s 8-point loss to Suburbia still on their minds. Whips Shut Down DemonCats, 193-89

For the second bout of the April 14 double-header, the DC DemonCats met the Majority Whips for the first time since the season opener back in October 2011, when the Whips, DC's newest home team, squeaked out a 1-point win over the Season 3 and Season 4 Champions. In a delightfully symmetrical bookend to the season, the two teams finally met again on Saturday to determine who would close the regular season in third place going into the consolation bout on May 12. DC All-Stars Best Maine, 197-131

In a fierce tussle to lay claim to the all-important 10th spot in the WFTDA East Region, the DC All-Stars battled Maine on April 14 at the DC Armory. After two prior losses to Maine in 2009 and 2011, the third time proved to be DC’s charm, as they came back from an early 50-19 deficit to send the Port Authorities home nursing a 197-131 loss and undoubtedly some bruises from the aggressively physical game. DC All-Stars Trounce Central New York, 291-85

On March 25, the DC All-Stars hosted the Central New York All-Stars in a WFTDA-sanctioned bout at Skate Zone in Crofton, Maryland. For Central New York, it was a hangover bout following a tough 239-191 defeat by the Dominion Derby Girls All Stars in Virginia Beach the night before, while DCRG was riding high after a 175-77 victory against Buffalo’s Queen City Rollergirls the weekend before. With a plethora of powerjams and tenacious defense, DC defeated CNY 291-85 to improve their 2012 record to 4-3. Keep Reading >>

Scare Force Outlasts Bombshells, 138-100, in Championship Preview

In the second bout of the March 18 double-header, the Cherry Blossom Bombshells came close to ending Scare Force One's two-season winning streak, but in the end, the ladies in black and blue managed to hold on to their undefeated status with a 138-100 win. Scare Force team captain Soledad kicked off the bout with a quick 4-point jam, but the Bombshells soon made it clear that Scare Force would have to fight hard for every point in this bout. DC All-Stars Hold Back Queen City, 175-77

For the first home bout of their 2012 interleague season, the DC All-Stars faced off against the Queen City Roller Girls of Buffalo, New York on March 18. Surprisingly fresh mere hours after a 440-62 defeat at the hands of Charm City earlier in the morning, Queen City, a 2011 addition to WFTDA, nonetheless appeared to be strategically outmatched by the more established DC team, going down to their second defeat of the day by a final of 175-77.
